the place to set your candles are crooked. You have to put something around your candles to kinda even out the look so you can't see how crooked they are. They weren't "horrible" just not so good and it was noticeable. It's pretty heavy duty item and it can add a nice touch to a space. So I gave it a 3 star as an "ok" item. I wouldn't give it as a gift.
I knew the reviews on this weren't great,

Yes, the pieces you place the candles are crooked. All but one on mine are. I can bend them around but Im afraid if I keep doing it, they'll break. The sodering around the hinges is done poorly. It's good enough to consider sturdy, but messy.
This one is not made as well as its single-candle wall sconce counterparts.
I like it for myself, but as the other review states, I wouldn't give it as a gift either.
If you really love this for the design, I recommend you buy it... but be prepared not to be amazed by it straight out of the box. It will take some adjusting before you can enjoy it on your wall.
Once you adjust it to your liking, you'll be happy you bought it.
Candles are not to exceed 3"x3". The way this is made, the pieces the candles sit on overlap slightly.
