This product is advertised as a floating lantern, but they DO NOT FLOAT! The wooden base soaks up the water, and the water wicks up the paper also. Total fail! I would give zero stars if I could.

I'm pretty sure the use of the word biodegradable is not regulated. With that said, let's consider the rash of things in recent memory coming from China that are not as-advertised - things containing lead, pet food supplements that are not Fido/Fluffy Friendly, knock-off prescription medicine, in general The Truth. Why should anyone believe this product is eco-friendly or biodegradable? Well, I guess in some sense, everything is technically biodegradable - broken down and choked down by Mother Earth, eventually. Some things we just might not be around to verify their degradation. But in the sense that most companies use this term in the marketing of their products it amounts to little more than a license to litter with a clear (or uncaring) conscience. Let's face it, chances are the user of this product is at best only polluting the river or lake in which they launch one of these into since the tea light candle they use is invariably petroleum-based.
