These candlesticks were beautiful when I unpacked them but the surface of the glass had a gritty feel to it and the glass was cloudy. I sat them in my kitchen sink and sprayed them down with glass cleaner to try to get the gritty feeling and the cloudiness off. When I went to wipe them clean the green color on the glass actually came off on my rag. There was now a peeling residue of green coloring all over them. Next I figured I might as well soak them in hot water to try and get the rest of the peeling mess off the surface. When I went to take them out of the water, the whole bottom platform came off of one of them. So what I have learned thru this mess is that they cut corners by forming the glass in sections and glued the candlestick together from three separate pieces of glass, then worst of all the color was applied on top of the glass rather than being pigmented into the glass when it was formed or blown.
