Eco Wish Lanterns From Wishlantern®

Wish Lantern continue to be at the forefront of lantern design and in July 2010 we became the first supplier in the USA to sell a 100% biodegradable wish lantern. Back in 2009 we started looking at replacing the small piece of wire in our traditional wish lantern with a fire resistant string that is capable of holding the burning fuel cell.

We're proud to announce the arrival of our Eco Wish Lanterns. Constructed with a thin bamboo frame and rice paper to complete the lantern, along with a woollen fire proof fuel cell cover instead of the regular wire cover that our other lanterns have, these lanterns are sure to biodegrade in a very short time after landing.

So if you're holding a special event in the near future and want to treat your guests to a beautiful display of white wish lanterns, as well as not being concerned about their impact on the environment, All our Wish Lanterns are individually wrapped and this pack has ten Eco Wish Lanterns® within it. Do not use within 5 miles of airport or when winds are in excess of 5 mph.

After an incredibly emotional year, my sister and I decided to each get a pack of these and just before midnight on New Year's Day, from our different cities, set afloat all our troubles, naming them after lighting each lantern. My best friend joined me that night, and once we found a nice quite place to sit at the ocean, began slowly lighting each lantern and sending them aloft.

We didn't realize it at first, but a small crowd had silently gathered behind us to watch what we were doing. Once the final lantern had been lit, sent skyward, and we began gathering our things, one of the people who had sat in the dark behind us said "Oh. Was that the last one?" We were startled and touched that about 15 people had gathered to watch what we thought was a private moment. They asked us a few questions about the materials of the lanterns (we were happy to share that they were ecologically sound) and why we were lighting them.

I highly recommend buying the eco-friendly lanterns without the wire, so less debris is left when it comes back to Earth. I was happy with these Eco Wishlanterns, they were well made and relatively easy to launch on a calm night. Please recycle all the overpackaging.
