I bought these for a candle chandelier on a screened porch. Traditional wax candles drip all over the place in the slightest breeze, and glass votive conversion cups always get knocked out of the holders and broken. I was happy to find LED tapers that were shorter than 10". Upon opening them, I couldn't find an on/off switch, and nothing mentioned in the instructions. I wrote a kind of nasty review and intended on sending them back- until I figured out that by twisting the base, you can break the contact of the batteries. I don't know if this is an intentional switch, it's kind of cheesy, but it seems to work. On the down side, the plastic is a really cheap grade- pvc pipe is nicer to look at than these are, and the drips look so fake you might not immediately realized they're intended to be drips. If I hadn't ordered these online, I don't know if I'd have bought them if I saw them beforehand. They do fit in a standard taper holder, something people noted in other LED candle...Read more

These candles are good for our apartment where we are not to use real candles. They twinkle a slight bit more than I like, but they fit (unusual) in our wall sconces so I am thrilled. They are easy to take out of the candle holder so that the bottoms can be screwed in or out to turn off or on.

These candles are great! They are exactly what I was looking for!!! I am actually going to order more of them! I had found a few cast iron "Aladin Lamp" items at a local store, and they each hold a candle. I ordered these two LED candles to see how they worked, and they are PERFECT! I can use them to decorate tables, etc. when hosting parties and not have to worry about anything catching on fire.
