This traditional nine branch menroah is made of solid brass and incorporates a Star of David in its design, which makes it a special double symbol of the Jewish faith. The menorah is one of the oldest religious Jewish symbols. It originated from the Jewish Temple in Jerusalem in which is was placed and used daily and since continues to be a symbol of the Jewish faith. The Seven branch menorah can be found in all synagogues and Jewish homes. The menorah was mentioned in the bible, the priests in the Temple would light the 7 branch menorah every evening and it would burn day and night. In modern synagogues, a single flame (usually electric) represents this ancient custom.
